Our Weekend

Nothing too exciting to report at the Onder house this weekend. In addition to Jonah's ice skating lesson (which he is doing very well in by the way) we went to Costco.

We also enjoyed the nice weather and went on a few bike rides/walks.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend too!

One Month Update

It is hard to believe that Eli has been home for a month already! He has grown so much during this past month. Here are the highlights of his development since we have been home:

  • Two new teeth are coming in on top. He is not shy about letting us know about his pain.
  • Says Mama, Dada and Baba (for bottle)
  • Has started eating some solid food. He really likes crackers.
  • He was introduced to milk the other day. He wouldn't drink it cold, but did enjoy it warmed up.
  • He was also introduced to a sippy cup. He is not too sure about that one.
  • Loves his dogs (but not as much as Jonah!) and has tried to pet Brutie a few times.
  • Enjoys his baths with his big brother.
  • He knows his name.
  • Tries to stand on his own.
  • Has outgrown all of his nine month clothes.
  • He is very vocal. If he has happy or upset, we know.
  • Loves smooches, but only on the forehead. (We sneak a few in on the lips when we can.)
  • He enjoys car trips and dropping off his big brother at school.
  • He loves when his daddy comes home from work and can't wait for Dan to hold him.
Eli has his one year well visit next Friday. I will post the stats from that doctor's visit once it happens. Next month, I am hoping to post that he sleeps through the night! :)

Happy Birthday Elijah!

For the record, we did not let him eat the cupcake. I realize you may need some help translating Jonah-speak...he says "Birthday" at the beginning of the video before he tastes the icing, and he says "He blows on it" at the end, referring to Eli's candle.

A good ending to a bad day.

After 15 hours in the emergency room, what better way to end the day than a bubble bath! Both enjoyed their first bath together. Eli learned to splash (thanks Jonah!) and both myself and the bathroom were soaked in the end. However, I think we all needed a little fun after what we had gone through.

Doctor Visit

Jonah had his three year old well visit earlier this week. He did great at the doctor's office and she even said he was her easiest visit so far that day.

Jonah weighed in at 34 lbs (75th percentile) and 37 1/2 inches (50th percentile).

Hopefully that will be his last doctor's visit this year!

Birthday

What a fun day for Jonah. He enjoyed all of his gifts. Life feels very busy with the 2 boys and the other 2 boys...it's a circus!

Ice Skating

Today Jonah had his first ice skating lesson. He was so excited to go! Unfortunately, the enthusiasm did not last long on the ice. He wanted to be held by his daddy much of the time. By the end of the half hour lesson he was feeling more and more comfortable and is already asking about his next lesson.

Eli

We've had some fun the past few days. We celebrated a second Christmas since we were apart on 12/25, New Year's came and went with out us realizing it, and now we are settling in and establishing new routines.

Jonah is doing very well. He enjoys having a little brother but he doesn't enjoy sharing toys yet. He doesn't mind that Eli is here and receiving attention from Haley or I. Jonah likes to sing songs to Eli before bedtime and helps out where he can. Elijah really likes his older brother. He lights up when Jonah enters the room.

The dogs are treating Eli well too and they don't seem to mind another intrusion in their home.

Elijah's passion seems to be standing up. We're encouraging him to walk with the cart (below). I don't know if this means he will be walking tomorrow or two months from now but it is fun to watch him learn.

A great way to start the new year.

Who can complain about celebrating Christmas twice? Certainly not Jonah! Today was Christmas at our house. Jonah and Eli enjoyed opening presents and are starting to learn what sharing means. Dan made an excellent turkey dinner and we listened to Christmas music most of the day. It was a great way to start 2010!
