Vacation Bible School

This was the first year Jonah was old enough to attend Vacation Bible School. Not knowing what it was, he was a little nervous at first. However, after the first day he said he loved it!. The theme this year was Treasure Island and Jonah was on the purple team. He is already talking about VBS next summer.

Jonah's 3rd Family Day

It's hard to believe that three years ago today, a judge in Ulan-Ude granted us the privilege to have Jonah as our son. We feel incredibly blessed to be parents to such a sweet boy. To celebrate this grand occasion, we had a day all about Jonah.

Starting off the day right. Breakfast and a movie (Cars) in bed.

Morning Reading

This morning, Jonah decided to sleep in. Eli and I made the most of it and enjoyed a good cuddle on the couch with a sippy of milk (for him, not me). We read one of his favorite books which is a picture book with different items, animals etc. I would point to a picture and he would name it and then we would move onto the next picture. When we were on the page with farm animals, I pointed to the goat, cow and horse. He named each correctly. However, when I pointed to the chicken he said "chicken nuggets." I couldn't stop laughing!

Parker Days

Parker Days is here and if you live in Parker it is something that is anticipated all year. Our family is no exception. We decided to do the carnival preview night this year and missed the weekend crowds and enjoyed the cool evening nights. This year, Jonah could ride many of the rides by himself. However, Eli was not going to let an opportunity pass up to go on a ride either! Both boys enjoyed the roller coasters, planes and big slides. Of course, any ride at a carnival is a hit!

Uno, Dos, Tres!

Around six am this morning, Dan and I woke up to someone counting (actually yelling) to ten in Spanish. To our surprise, it was coming from the room next door. Eli was practicing his Spanish and you may be interested to know that he is equally proficient in counting to ten in English and Spanish.

Yee Haw!

This past weekend we went to the Elizabeth Stampede. Not only was this the first rodeo for the boys, but it was Dan's first as well. I told Jonah he can now use the phrase "this isn't my first rodeo" when talking to people.
